Join the Academy

After putting together the How To Join Starfleet document, I figured I would create one for how to join the Academy. So, here we go!

  1. Visit the Academy Moodle Page here: STARFLEET Educational Services Academy: Log in to the site (sfi.org) and scroll down. You will see this screen.

    Read the information and click the “Create New Account” button.
  2. You will be presented with the Age and Location screen.

    Enter your age and select United States. Why do they need to know this? This information is required to determine if your age is over the digital age of consent. This is the age when an individual can consent to terms and conditions and their data being legally stored and processed.
  3. Next, you will be presented with the 1 Data Privacy Agreement, 2 Starfleet Privacy Policy, 3 Starfleet Data Protection Policy Agreement.

    Please read the agreement and click NEXT at the bottom.

  4. Next, please click on the link to read the Starfleet Data Protection Policy. When you have reviewed that, return the form and click NEXT.
  5. Next, you will be presented with page where you will check the boxes to indicate that you agree to each of the Data Privacy Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Data Protection Policy.

  6. Enter your Email address and confirm it, then choose your username and password and scroll down. Choose Your Username and Password
  7. Then enter some more details…and scroll down.

  8. Then enter your Starfleet Information: Your SCC# as well as your Navel and Marine ranks (If applicable).

    Also, CADETS (SFI Members under the age of 18) must check the box indicating that. A note about CADETS: This includes our cadet members (under 18 years of age) and are considered as minors.  Minors must have a parent or guardian email the SFA Webmaster at sfiacademy.webmaster (at) gmail.com requesting to have a minor enrolled into the SFA Moodle system.  Further information will then be provided.

That is all there is to it. Since the creation of the Academy ID is a manual process, it could take up to 48 hours before your ID is created. During that time, please check your SPAM folders in case the “welcome” message goes there.
