BioShock

Post by Digger[NJLP] »

Ok, so I've been playin the Demo over and over and like the concept but have been on the fence about whether to buy it.

I need some input for people who are playing it, is it worth it?

The "whats to come" shorts at the end of the demo seem kewl but they also seem like more of the same stuff the demo showed me.

I seem to be in a game quadry, I not playing much of anything except Need for Speed and the really sad part is 3DRealms is getting my hopes up that Duke will be out soon...

I played through Bioshock on the 360 and loved it, the atmosphere of the game was awesome (The "old time" soundtrack was actually creepy at times) and the power-ups allowed for some interesting options with your character. I'd say it's definitely worth a buy.

I was thinking about getting Bioshock, but hesitated when I heard about the copy protection. I think I'll end up getting it to.

It is on STEAM...That is one way to avoid the nasty copy protection...Then you are just using the STEAM protection.

I really do like having all of my games in one place. I just wonder what happens if a game company decides to pull their games from STEAM.

Steam...

Post by Digger[NJLP] »

I like Steam but Murdock does bring up a good point, what does happen if a publisher pulls out of Steam. To me Steam is essentially doing the same thing XFire does, except with a store to buy stuff.

There's no copy protection on the pirated version. :)

Oh the irony in that. Sounds allot like what happened with Microsoft's WGA a few months ago. The only people that were guaranteed no problems were the pirates.

Bioshock is like System Shock, Fallout and Deus Ex all mixed together. In other words, amazing! I suggest using the cracked .exe for a hefty performance boost and no activation headaches. A word of warning: this game does not run all that great on an older system and unless you have a recent videocard you miss out on all the incredible immersion and detail this game has to offer.

Well I'm still deciding...

Graphics are pretty amazing and I don't see a hardware issue as of yet.

Though I just installed MS FLightSim X deluxe and am really really impressed.

I love the cute little elephants that are running around Africa..

I hear their are whales too!
