NJLP Events for the Month of December
I thought we might try some WAN parties for the month of December. This will give you something to do late on Saturday nights.
On every night, the schedule will be the same: Join the TeamSpeak Server and we will figure out where to go.
Here is the schedule that I thought might work:
12/2 - HL (eQuake) Games :
We will use this night to relive the maps that we all used to love so much.
eQuake
12/9 - QUAKE IV (and maybe some Q3 too)
12/16 - UT Classic - Let's have a party like we used to have when we started this whole thing.
Files you will need:
UTPG PATCH 451b
UT PURE
12/23 - UT2K4 - Time for the current maps, and maybe some new ones
12/30 - Battlefield 2 - Let's hit the battlefield and rock our server just before we release it. I will see if I can get a scrimage against GH or some other group.
So what do you guys think?

I was just seeing if you were paying attention.
eQuake is a version of QUAKE1 with an upgraded graphics engine. Its free and can be downloaded here:
http://equake.quakeworld.nu/
Please download
eQuake v1.01 build 557 Installer
We might have a special Map Pack with a set of Butchski selected maps. I really should have asked him first, but being that its quake, I'm sure he won't mind.
I set up and tested the server last night. Works great on my Linux box.

Ok guys...
I updated the first message with links to find the files you will need. Please install early and test. If you want me to start the server so you can test your install...let me know.
I have installed and tested the eQuake and the UT Classic server. I will be installing UT Pure later.

Are there any particular maps we'll be playing?

Just the ones we love!
It was great! I loaded up the servers and joined the games to test them out...and it was so much fun playing UT PRESSURE, Liandri, Curse II, Arcane Temple, and Barricade again! What a great game. I also loaded THORNSv2 just to see if I remembered it correctly.
Make a note, it will not load if you do not have the correct version, so make sure you get all the bonus packs and then Patch to 4.51b using the links above.
As for the eQuake, some of the maps are in the PAK file, and the rest everyone will have to download. We'll set up a zip file once we know what maps we are talking about. I ask Butchski to set up a Maplist.

We can't seem to figure out why some have had this problem. Klep and Nil are you both running the dual vid card thing?

eQuake ran great on OpenGL for me and looked great.
I was dumbfounded at the quickness and reliability of Murdock's expertly configured eQuake server. Especially when we had all 28 users on the server.
Note the sarcastic use of the words dumbfounded, quickness, and reliability.
Just givin a dig in the ribs to Murdock. It's so rare that I get a chance to raz him..
