I hope to see you there...
UberCon V, March 11-13, 2005 -- Our Third Annual Winter Gathering!
At The Crowne Plaza Meadowlands!
Two years ago, during the freak Blizzard of 2003, our maiden event was snowed into the Parsippany Sheraton with Pete Abrams, Phil and Kaja Foglio, Steve Jackson, CJ Henderson, and Greg Costikyan. It was a spectacular beginning, and we enjoyed ourselves . . . for three days after the official end of UberCon I.
Last year we hosted UCIII at the Radisson Suites Meadowlands (which changed its name to PRIME SUITES at noon on the day of the convention confusing even veteran cab drivers!), where there were so many people Saturday aftenoon that we were playing in every nook and cranny of the hotel.
Our Winter UberCons are always exciting, and YOU are cordially invited to attend. We have a special fondness for groups of gamers and want to make sure that as many groups as possible have the opportunity to attend. We have special discounts for groups of 6 or more, and will also make a genuine effort to find volunteer possibilities to make your stay even less expensive than you’d planned.
We’ve moved to March, on the 11th-13th , to avoid blizzards. We’ve also move to the Crowne Plaza, our new hotel from UC IV, to alleviate the crush.
We’ll have old favorites, additions from our fall conventions (UC II and UC IV), and a slew of new things including:
Ø More chances to meet our fascinating and talented guests, including
Guest of Honor, author Keith R. A. DeCandido
Ø The revival of the UberCon Independent Film Festival featuring 100
hours of new films from talented young film-makers
Ø Continuous action at our new combined console/LAN center
Ø A new Anime Theater featuring 3 days of non-stop Anime, from old
favorites to brand new, straight from Japan releases.
Ø Nth Degree/Vlad’s Midnight Madness -- an all-con party for 21+ adult
attendees
Ø A large selection of RPGA-sanctioned events,
Ø A full slate of the most popular tabletop games, a few oldies,
tournaments for Settlers of Catan, Munchkin, Memoir ’44, Ticket to Ride and Lunch Money, and a nice variety of new and novel games to try for the first time.
Ø LARP with Nightfall Productions, CCG, 15 tables of miniatures, a
DDR tournament, and live music (any Filker’s out there?).
We also anticipate our second Ubercon Blood Drive, a camera scavenger hunt, many events featuring our honored guests, and Celebrity Pictionary featuring most of our guest comic artists.
Come Play with Us!
Group discounts are available.
Hope to see you there!
