Guys,
Anyone interested in the new tekkit. I have been looking around the internet and have not found a good server for me. I would like to start my own private server for my friends and see where it goes. I do not have much experience with the new tekkit but would love to give it a go. You basically go into space and build on different planets and sounds interesting to me.
Here is the link for the new tekkit launcher.

OK question, I didn't know about tekkit, but I am currently running a bukkit server. What drew you to Tekkit and did you know about bukkit servers?

ok server seems not to like the new tekkit server. Anybody have any ideas. Getting server is running slow and very high ticks and the server wont load the chunks. CPU dosent peak above 75% and the ram was set to 7 gigs and didnt see anything peak over 6.5 for the ram.

Well I know RAM assigned is dependent on the number of people you want to host. Currently my server is set to 1.5 Gigs of RAM and hasn't had much issue, most I have had on the server is 12 at one time.

I just upgraded to 32gb of ram from 8gb. That seems to help a lot but I am using 20 -30 gb just loading chunks and back round tasks. Just me flying around. I know that tekkit puts a big stress on the hardware. It was a lot better running on my destop witch is intel.

Hey bMeister what build version is the Tekkit Server using?
Bukkit seems to be constantly on catchup and is still on 1.6.4-R2.0.
Which sucks because all my sons friends upgrade as soon as there is one.
So I either have to trash bukkit and go back to a minecraft server or find something else.

i know tekkit is running 1.6.4. they need a septet launcher so they can play on tekkit 1.6.4 and minecraft 1.7?. They wont conflict.
