USA Science And Technology Festival April 25th -27th 2014

Got a email about a science and Technology Festival in DC. I am very much interested in attending this. It is April 25th to the 27th 2014. I think this is for kids but the kid inside me is coming out. Here is the email.


Hey folks-

I hope this note finds you well. I am contacting you in regards to next year's USA Science & Engineering Festival --the largest STEM event in the world. It takes place from April 25 - 27, 2014 at the Walter E Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. We are very interested in having NYC Resistor involved in our efforts to promote education, and science and technology.

Our last event had over 250,000 attendees --children (k-12), families, teachers,as well as government, media and industry leaders. We are aiming at doubling (500,000) that next year. Speakers and performers will include everyone from the President; to the cast of The Big Bang Theory; to Nobel Prize winners; to Bill Nye the Science guy; to astronauts; to Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs (who will be hosting a manufacturing pavilion)

There will be activities ranging from from huge interactive exhibits to career fairs to hackathons to a TED talks for kids to a book fair to teacher training conferences to visits to local schools in underserved communities.

This is a free, non profit, purely educational, inspirational and family friendly event. Exhibitor space will include 750 of the World's leading professional scientific and engineering societies, universities, government agencies, high tech corporations and STEM outreach and community organizations.

We have opportunities to exhibit, demonstrate, experiment and speak. I am wondering if you and your many spin-outs and side projects might want a chance to take part. We have booths starting for as little as $1,000 for 10x10, but we can certainly cut a pretty awsome deal if you'd be interested in coming with a group or partners and potentially curate a makers area

Looks like fun, but I doubt I could make it.

I do not know that far in advance for my self as well. If the interest is there, I would get a hotel room before the price goes up.
