I just wanted to share my experience with installing and trying to run BF2 on Windows 7 x64. Surprise, surprise, BF2 has some issues with it. This still bugs me about BF2, how buggy it is 4 years after initial release. Anyway, the install of bf2, bf2sf, and the patches to 1.5 went fine. However when you try to launch the game, the screen goes black and then goes back to desktop. I tried all the usual fixes, but no go. I finally found a solution on the ea forum. It's the 12th post down. solution worked for me. Looking forward to some bf2 at the lan.
