Well, that does it for me too. I was at least hoping for LAN support. If it had LAN I would put up with IWnet. Time to call gamestop and cancel. Such a shame.

Wow, just tried to cancel and the sales guy gave me crap. He said you're not one of "those people." I actally feel insulted. I think I may have to write to the manager and complain. He asked why I was canceling and I told him, and he actually starting bashing me for gaming on a pc. He said if I wanted lan support I should get a xbox. Then I wouldn't need a graphics card every six months. I'm really kinda pissed now. Never going back to gamestop. What a tool...

Ok, so due to Gamestop's draconian cancel policies I was going to have to go to the store and cancel my pre-order. I wasn't able to make it to the store until today, and today is release day, so I really can't cancel a pre-order after release. Since, I had to go to the store anyway I just bought the damn game. I'm able to return it if it is un-opened, so right now it is sitting on my desk still in shrinkwrap.

Because of this, I think I'm going to keep the game and, as Omega put it, be the "guinea pig" for our group. I'll install it and let you know how much IWnet sucks or if it's actually good. I'll also report back on the lan settings if any, cause I still haven't found any info on the subject.

I'm taking a $60 risk here, but I already budgeted money for this so it really isn't a huge deal either way. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but hearing from some of the reviews
I won't be...

Cupcake, you're my hero! The steam forums are alight with people claiming they cannot install the game because of some kind of steam/release date issue. I'm sure most of the people having trouble are not burdened with an overabundance of computer knowledge. Keep us posted on how smoothly the install goes for a power user.

I eagerly await your review!

meh, on second thought...good luck; apparently there is a cheap uberhack for MW2 already. With no admins or kick, this may not end so well.

I returned my copy. I am going to pre-order Battlefield Bad Company 2 however. Comes out in March. If you preorder you get limited edition for the regular price. I'll be starting one of those threads shortly.

I wasn't going to say it...

Though...there's nothing to indicate that its going to suck....yet.

There's just nothing to indicate that there's anything to gain from preordering.

The latest Rooster-Teeth comic fits nicely with this thread...

Also, from what I saw on X-Play last night and have read so far, the game is awesome. i'm thinking of getting it, though mostly for the single player.
