Getting BF1942 to run in 2017

We were trying to get BF1942 to run at Friday Night Frag and I found this tip located here:https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Battlef ... 12/page/21

Hi!
 
I think you can activate it doing this: Right click in "Start" icon (the one in the corner down-left) -> Click in "Apps And Features" -> Click "Turn Windows features on or off" on the left -> "Legacy Components" -> Activate "DirectPlay".
 
If it doesn't activate, turn off your antivirus and/or Skype.
