Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Post by Digger[NJLP] »

Hey all, Droid and I are playing Empyrion - Galactic Survival, basically minecraft on steroids in a true graphic 3D engine.

So far I haven't even left the planet and I'm already sold.

Single player
Survival mode
You start out crashing landing in an escape pod on an alien planted. You have some base technology with you to start out.

Creative,
You spawn above you planet in a massive warp capable mothership.

Multiplayer
Public, private, rent, and dedicated servers. But dedicated will need a quad core with at least 8 Gigs of ram, and that's for like 4-6 people.

But the scope and breath of the challenge is amazing.
Think of it like, Half-life morphed with Minecraft, morphed with Kerbal Space Program, morphed with Star Trek.

Shockingly it's in Alpha and they are charging 20 buck on steam. but it plays really well.
You have to be a good reader as the tutorial is text base, but it is very thorough and the overall help engine is massive.

Ratings by steam users is high and massive numbers.

Another game that will morph your concept of time.

Welp, I went ahead and started up a dedicated server and with both Droids and I on it at the same time, it only used like 2.1 GB of ram.
And the server was hosting TeamSpeak, I may move it off to another box.

Ports are open and the server is listed in the multiplayer server list.

No bets on stability, but so far it is running solid. As updates are released the server will be patched.

It is "public" but if it gets popular I may add a password, depending if we have more then just droid and I.

BF2 server is still running on the other server and it is not very popular so no bandwidth issues there.
