Teamspeak Server shutting down
Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
The NJLP server may not work for us on Sat. Too many connections from the same IP will trigger a failsafe. It blocked us when we tried to use it at FITES.
Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
It might be a setting I can change. I'll check when I get home.

other option would be is to run it on a lan network. Wouldnt it be easier to just yell across the room like good old times.
Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
Yeah. The only reason I could see for using TeamSpeak would be to communicate with the others who are not in the room. I was also thinking about pointing other NJ-Extra-Life groups to our TS Server.

I can install the TS DS on my server tonight for a just in case scenario.
Let me know what you find out tonight Murdock.

Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
Hi guys,
So here is the question. The TeamSpeak Server bill is due. I would like to continue it, but we are really not using it, except when we need it.
If 10 of us kick in, it is $5 each for the year.
That gets us almost 100% availability and the host take care of patching it.
The alternative is, one of us hosts it and will get the power bills and the calls when the server is unavailable.
So what do you think? Renew or let it go.

Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
I honestly think Droids and I are the only ones using the server regularly. If anyone is up for paying I'm in for $30.
In the mean time, teamspeak.led4.net is up and working. Home based 32 man TS3 server.

I'm not sure if we should just let it go...
I've been messing around with this new program/app that has been becoming very popular lately, called Discord. Client is free, Servers seem to be free, not sure if it is limited by user count... there is also a web and mobile client. I've started setting up a server to play with, and rights can be assigned like the forms, mods, admins, etc. I think it's something we can look into giving a shot!

Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
Actually, we need to look into this "Discord" thing.
In the meantime, Diggs has his TS Server up and running. There is no password at the moment. However, should we need one, it will be the regular "Member's Only" password.
The Address is "teamspeak.led4.net". No port is necessary.

Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
That was why I mentioned it. I also noticed that FITES was using both too.
I guess I was agreeing with you.

Forward ports
UDP Port 9987 inbound
TCP Port 10011 inbound
TCP Port 30033 inbound
to the ip of the server on the inside that is hosting the TS3 Ded Server
Make sure windows firewall or any other for that matter, on the hosting server, is off or add exceptions.

Re: Teamspeak Server shutting down
Discord looks interesting, but one thing I'm not seeing is a way to find a server. Looks like maybe we need an invite or a direct link?
