Last movie night, we didn't finish watching Serial Experiments Lain. We're going to try again on Augusta 6th. We watched episodes 1 through 8 before and we'll finish the last 5 on the 6 with enough time for discussion afterwards.

I would also recommend Cyberia by Douglas Rushkoff. Gives a lot of insight to early cyber cultural. It's a lot more involved than just playing Doom on DOS.
