Blu-ray - Star Trek:Into Darkness - Different versions?!?!?

So I was watching HD Nation from Tech Feed earlier and the title of the episode peaked my interest, "Don't buy the wrong Star Trek Blu-ray". Watched the episode and they referenced this article from Gigaom.com

It made me think... What the hell? I mean yea, to a degree I care/don't care about the extras but now I feel like no matter where I buy the disk, I'm still getting ripped off one way or another... And now I'm gunna have to do research into buying a movie?!?!? That ain't right...

This story is just one more reason for me to NOT buy it. Just like the 2009 Star Trek, but for different reasons.
