Look who has FIOS now!!!

Post by [FETT]Cupcake »

Oh yeah, just thought I would share the excitement with everyone here. Look who has FIOS now... It would be me.

I have the 15 down 2 up plan. I have the option of going to 30 down 5 up for 6 bucks more, but I wouldn't get the same deal on TV or phone that I have.

All I have to say is woohoo!

Nice. I wish I had the option of 30/5 from FIOS. Unfortunately they only offer the inexpensive 20/5 (cable company offers 30/5 for same price), and the extremely expensive 50/10 coming in at $130.

FIOS packages

Post by KlepMod »

Hmmm, it looks like they changed their packages. I've had the 20/5 service for almost a year @ 39.95. Wonder if they're going to change it on me after the year's up?

Me too, Klep and the 20/5 has been just fine for me and my needs.

Though did you have to deal with the pain in the a** billing issues. For the first three months of having the internet/phone/TV I was getting bills for 300 bucks.. They kept telling me to only pay the 130, but it was still annoying..

Oh an Klep,

Welcome to the light!

Love that commercial.

No billing problems here but I'm only using the internet. How has the TV been for you? I'm thinking of switching before the NFL season starts. I need my Saturday games!

Ok well a close friend is on Comcast HD and my dad is on Cablevision HD and quality wise we are about the same. I personally think I get a better feed but that may also be because I'm bias.
Based on the number of HD channels, FIOS is behind Comcast and Cablevision buy about 4 channels.

But both my friend and my Dad complain that the HD channels I have are more "quality", Discover HD, Wealth HD, etc. So they feel that I have more watchable HD channels then they do.

And so far I haven't had any disruption.

Oh and preseason NFL on HD is out friggin standing!

he he

In the tv department fios was a no-brainer. With Comcast cable in my area we only had 8 HD channels. Pretty crappy.

With Fios I now have 30, and it will be more when I upgrade to get movie channels.

Isn't FIOS insanely expensive? I checked the 30/5 plan to replace my cable, just for laughs, and stopped laughing when I saw it was 3x more expensive. That was several months ago, so maybe it got better... But I doubt they could cut $100 off.

20/5 with the package TV/Internet/Phone 99.99. After the sales bonus comes off (1 Year) it should be about 150 to 160 for TV/Internet/Phone.

30/5 by itself is expensive...

Yeah - I checked again... Like $170 for 30/5. My Optimum Online 30/5 is $55/month. No competition there.

But, they get my money anyway... Cable portion is $$50 and then the phone portion is $15. With taxes and fees they rip me for $130ish every month.

Well after getting settled in, FiOS was not avaiable and I am a cablevision customer getting the "triple-play" although my install was delayed by 5 days due to my landloard  they called to confirm his disconnection and he told cablevision he wasn't leaving, so cablevision cancled my appointment, I called them and they said five days, needless to say I was pissed off....

so I am on the 15/2 until the special wears off....it is faster than the 8/784 service I had in Ca through Comcast....

I upgraded to the 20/20 (running Optimum for Business as well), and man, it is pretty fast upload, although I am finding that the 20/20 is really rather useless, because you need to run 3 game servers in order to use it.
