New store MicroCenter in Paterson WOW

Post by Majestic »

MicroCenter has opened up a new store in Paterson a week ago. Weekend Wars and NJGamers had some great prizes because of their sponsorship. I though the least I could do, was to drive an hour and give it a look.

WOW Great store. It's really a store for people who build their own computers. They had a a whole section just for water cooled equipment. They had three aisles of video cards. The group of us just walked around with our mouths open. I was a kid in a candy store!

It looks like MicroCenter wants to run this store right. The sales people we met at my LAN and in the store knew what they were talking about. Prices were good or great and there's only 3.5% sales tax.

Check it out.

I know this looks like SPAM but it's not. Go see the store and you'll be spreading the word to all of your geeky computer lovin friends.

Hey, it looks cool! I'll have to check it out.

And, this isn't spam as long as it comes from one of us. :)

I have ordered stuff from them via their web site before. Interesting location though.. Not the best area of Paterson.

I went up there with Gregg, it is part of an economic revitalization. When we were there, the area felt safe, it was just off the highway, and there was no reason to make you nervous. I really don't know how to subscribe the area, maybe the best way, imagine the lowes in Old Bridge, but with nothing around it and a computers store in the same shopping center. I guess that is it.

I've been to one of their locations in CA when I was out there for training, Awesome store, if this is the same layout there is a huge selection of parts, case modding stuff etc.

Gotta check this out.

Yes it is similar to what you are describing. It is like NewEgg in a Brick and Mortar. They have huge selections of all kinds of high quality parts. Defintly check it out.

For anyone at NJGamers:

They are currently in soft opening at Micro Center however on May 12-13 (NJGamers Weekend), they will be having their grand openin. We are planning on attending the grand opening right after njgamers. I will bring the 7-seater SUV and basically we will take the car up to Micro Center, then come back down to Scotch Plains to drop you back off in Scotch Plains at your car, perhaps stopping for lunch. Since Microcenter has sponsored many LANs in our area, including NJgamer and Weeknd Wars, it is the least we can do. Me and Gregg have already went there twice, and must say the trip is well worth it. Please let me know who wants in, just email me @ ultradave@gmail.com We have room for 4 in addition to me and Gregg comfortably, however we can probably smash in 5.

See ya.

I was there this past weekend. Man, it is a great place. Just like newegg, but a real store. A huge DIY section, aisles of vid cards, and hdd's. You name it they had it. Even a whole aisle of water-cooling. definitely check it out.

The 3.5% sales tax is cool too. You guys still have to pay the NJ sales tax for newegg, but at micro-center it is half. The only good thing about living in VA is that there is no sales tax for newegg for me. If I was still in NJ, I would definitely go to this store.

Did anyone get the FREE offer in the mail. No rebates! I have two of them. Who lives near the stor that wants to use them? Does anyone in Mahwah drive by on the way home or at lunch?

I can drive by it when I go to Fair Lawn on Saturdays.

Unfortunately, I don't drive that way to go home.

Are their regular prices good or do they have sales?
