First Dell buys Alienware and now..
HP to acquire Voodoo PC

Is there no hope? There is not going to be much left in the high end gaming PC market.
Fire will rain forth from the skies when e-machines purchases Falcon Northwest in the next wave!

I hate to say it but its the cycle of business. Just imagine the sums of money Alienware and now Vodoo were offered. Though I know their is the mind set of keeping the company "your own" but when a large company throws 10,15,20, 50 million dollars at you and gives you a nice contract to stay on and head their gaming hardware division, you have to look at the offer.
Pros
No business headaches.
No salary issues
No accounting issues
No bricks and morter issues.
Concentrate on building a high end gaming product(the reason why you got into this to begin with)
A cushy job with a great contract and salary
A large cash buy out, time to buy that Lambo
Cons
Less control, more corporate suits giving their input
Hardware restrictions (Usualy has to stay within confines of hardware contracts for the company)
Its not "yours"
But ya know, their will just another group of brothers/sistes/guys/gals who will get annoyed with the DELL/HP items and start a company to customize PC's..
What I am seeing as the nex big PC customization is a on different scale.
Customized PC's that match decor, hardwoods that match desks and rooms, materials not normally used to let the system blend in with the room itself.
We just need to get on "Extreme Home Makeover"
Or maybe a PC that fits in a wall and is completely wireless aside from the power.
We need to take over the world...
