Bleh, Signatures mean nothing to me!
I heard that they were going to make it 50/10 for the upper tier, maybe that will be in the future. From waht I hear, FiOS is great, I hear that most people get pretty close to their guaranteed speed. I right now have 30/2 cable, and I usually average 25/125 (I get capped if I upload for more than a 1megapixel picture). Check out http://www.dslreports.com for reviews.

FIOS
Just to confirm what you already know. I had FIOS installed a month ago (the 20/5 performance level). It's all is claims to be. Speakeasy speed test is actually slightly better than 20/5 from a NY server. Almost twice as fast as my cable service to the same servers. I've run them side by side for the trial period. Verizon was going door to door in our neighborhood. The deal was tough to pass on. No install fee and $39.99 for the 20/5 level. One year commitment after the one month trial period. I called Cablevision today and cancelled my optimum online account.

Check this out..
I had canceled comcast the day after they installed the Fiber. But Comcast just sent me a flyer that said, "We are upping you bandwidth free of charge!"
So I role my eyes thinking I just dropped cable and now they are upping everyone to compete with Verizon. So I open the mailer and it says.
We are upping you bandwidth from whatever it was up, like 512KB to 768KB.
I laughed and through it in the garbage.
Long live FIOS!

Harlock,
They pretty much put a 12 inch by 12 inch box on the side of the house and a slightly smaller unit on the inside. They also mount/install a battery backup unit. As Klep said on the inside unit is a Cat5 Cable that you could literally plug in to your laptop and go. The provided wireless/switch/Firewalll, non name brand, which seems nice but I never used it. I just plugged a ethernet cable from their plug in to my Firewall and I made no changes to my network.
The best part is if you have verizon for phone service you get a significant drop in cost. I droped 40 bucks off of phone service.

Ok this is sweet. I've been MIA lately, but with good reason. The wife and I just purchased our first home. New construction, and the best part is...they already have FIOS in the neighborhood!!!!!Bye cable!!!
I have to iron out the details, but I think I'm going to have ethernet ports in every room. Just have to verify things with verizon.
I'm excited.
