NJLP BF2 ranked server?

Would anyone be interested in splitting the costs of getting our own ranked server? Something like a 24 person server where we could have it open to the public but kick people if need be to make room for ourselves?

Just a thought.

We have sieriously talked about this...

I have looked at the servers offered by the BF2Player hosting co....Where are you looking? Is it any better cost wise?

I'm thinking we would need at least a 32 player server to have really good games.

What do you think?

What were the prices in the bf2 player company? I haven't really been looking too much. We should find a server that is close. I was looking around and stumbled on one that is in my home town down here. I will keep looking.

Here's the one I found...it's called wolf servers. It costs 3.99 a slot. So a 32 player server would be 127.68. A 24 person server would be 95.76. They have servers in Ashburn, VA. That is where I live, and it should be fast for you guys in NJ as well.

When you say it's 3.99 per slot, once only, per year or per month?

My bet is it's per month... And then the problem is getting out of the server if you stop playing it for something else...

I know murdock and I were talking about putting everyone in a three month commitment. Which would prent an immediate back out.

Any more info murdock about getting a ramked server? I know we talked about it at njgamers, just wanted to see if any new news was out.

Ok...here's the deal:

We are looking for a few Good Men, 16 to be specific, to go in with us to rent a 40 player BF2 RANKED dedicated server. We want to be able to control the rules and have a place where we can go to play in stead of trying to find a place, with room that has the rules we like. To prevent the server from being here today and gone tomorrow, the commitment will be for 6 months. Once you are in, you can quit, but you won't be getting your money back.

If we want you out...we you can be voted out if more than 50% vote you out.

The cost will be $40 per person for the 6 months. That works out to $6.67 per person per month...come on...that's cheap! To get this ball rolling, some of us will be buying more than one of the 16 slots.

Some of those rules are :

1) There will be 2 rounds per map
2) Everyone will automatically switch teams after each round
3) Commanders will command, not drive or fly
4) No spawn camping
5) NO INTENTIONAL TEAM KILLING, even if someone steals a vehicle.
6) Friendly Fire off for Mines and Claymore
n) More to come....If you think of something, reply and if we like it, we will add it here.

Murdock, just let me know how you want me to pay you and I will. Also, my buddy, [FETT]Bunsen wants in as well. Can you tell me who will be hosting the server? More specifically can you give me a server that is hosted by the same company in the same place? He is in Florida and wants to make sure his ping is good. I'm sure it will be...he was getting 20 ping on servers in France.

Also I will be willing to pay for another slot if I can get admin privelages. Can we work this out?
