I finished last year $600+ over my goal, with a grand total of $2,636! Amazing, and it was all thanks to all my friends and family that support this cause. Because of you, I passed my previous amount raised for the third year in a row. I can’t ever thank you enough for your support! The good that the hospital does with your support is amazing. I know it really makes me feel good…I hope you get the same good feeling knowing that you are helping the children’s hospital!
This is my 12th year raising money for the children’s hospital. Last year, 8 of us raised $5,529 for our hospitals! It will be difficult to reach that goal this year, but we are going to try. I am still looking for some new and creative ways to raise money this year. Would you like to join us? We are going to need the help!
As of right now, I have raised $619 towards my current goal of $1,100. I would like to be able to raise that goal to $2,000…but I can’t do that until I reach the goal I have set.
What is Extra Life? If you are not familiar, here is a little background. I will be dedicating 24 hours with thousands of other gamers across the world, to support our local children’s hospitals. This was started in memory of a little girl from Texas that fought hard, and this is her legacy. A local DJ contacted a gaming group to send in games to give her, and other kids fighting hard, something to do during long hospital stays. And that is how Extra Life was born! I am proud to support this cause! And thank you all for your support, LIKEs and SHARES! And please do share. Anyone can give as little as a dollar, and every dollar counts! Click here to donate now.
Thank you for your continued support!
John
Here is the video from our trip to Sodus Point Lighthouse to see the 2024 Eclipse Totality. Since it was overcast, we were unable to see all of the traditional views of the Sun and Moon that everyone was sharing. However, we were able to see something just as fantastic. We witnessed the shadow of the Moon on the overcast clouds as Totality rolled over Lake Ontario. Seeing the oval edge of Totality from the ground is something that everyone else who had clear skies would not see. The entire video is only seven and a half minutes long. I started recording just as it started getting dark and ended after the skies returned to normal. Totality was over four minutes long.
Today was a fun day at the Northeast Astronomy Forum! Christine was able to help me staff the table for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals EXTRA LIFE Gaming Marathon! With Christine’s help, I was able to get out and visit some of the other tables, and even one talk called ‘The Siberia Beyond Neptune’! I’ll post a picture of the swag later. We did get one signup today… and that person might bring some friends to make a team. We engaged with many more people from Jersey today. When interested people wanted to know more, I was able to run the videos about how it all stated with Tori, the video “The Miracle Is Our Network“, and the video about our current 2024 Hero Gabby. We gave away many SHARE cards… so there’s always a chance someone joins later. The biggest draw to the table was my mini-arcade Galaga! So many people stopped because that was their favorite game growing up. At the start of the convention, i had the top two scores…Now there are three people above me. I have some work to do.
Overall, it was a great time and a rewarding experience trying to get the word out about Extra Life and the great work that the Children’s Hospital does for kids!!!
